Yea! Marriner has been awarded website work for a client (whether new or existing)! Based on the scope of work that has been executed, there are a few things to ask the client about, as well as access to, in order to ensure a successful website build.

CLIENT ONBOARDING QUESTIONS

If this is a new client for Marriner, please be sure to share the following items so the team has background on the client as well as KPIs/goals to keep in mind throughout the build.

  1. Statement of product offering(s) or service.
  2. What is the unique value proposition?
  3. Provide the organizational structure, reviewers and key stakeholders.
  4. What are the audience targets (in priority order)?
  5. Provide a list of your competitors.
  6. What are your business goals for this fiscal year?
  7. What are your goals and KPIs specific to this website initiative?
  8. Describe your current marketing activity across channels.
  9. Please provide all sales collateral, decks, and customer facing material.
  10. What is the project deadline?
  11. What are the obstacles or risks that impact project delivery?

WEBSITE | REBUILD or REDESIGN ITEMS NEEDED

  1. If the client does have an existing website, with an existing domain. If we are tasked to redesign and/or rebuild the website, MMC will need the below items prior to beginning work.
    1. FTP and DB (Database) access so we can pull files and data directly from the current site.
    2. Product data access **if applicable. If the current site houses product information (i.e. SKU, description, product title, product category) we will likely need access to the product data (whether its via an API or UN/PW the client provides, along with an admin URL to log in to).
    3. Logo Files - SVG, EPS (EPS is preferable).
    4. Does the client have a current CMS? If yes, we (MMC) will need CMS access.
    5. ALL Brand Guidelines.
    6. Assets
      1. Images, video files, PDFs.
      2. For images, if the client uses a stock photo account (i.e. DreamsTime) that would be good to have
      3. Icons (.ai, .psd, .eps, .jpg, .png, .svg)
    7. Does the client have Google Analytics currently? If yes, Marriner will need access to the clients GA account.
    8. Does the existing website utilize any performance tools? (i.e. HotJar)? If so, Marriner will need credentials.

HOSTING INFORMATION

  1. If MMC is hosting
    1. Hosting must be included in the scope of a website project, or separately for at least one year.
    2. Provide a list of all websites that will be migrated to MMC’s services along with all domains that will need to point to our environment once successfully migrated.
    3. Proposed site(s) will be reviewed to ensure MMC’s hosting environment meets the technical requirements of web properties
    4. DNS access - if MMC is responsible for updates/edits for Client
    5. With no DNS access, MMC must have a contact for making these necessary changes at launch
  2. If MMC is not hosting
    1. Client must provide a hosting environment that will match the requirements of the website MMC is building.
    2. Client must have a technical point of contact for any updates/issues that need to be addressed.
    3. Client assumes all responsibility of the environment and security on the server side.
    4. MMC developers must have full access to the hosting environment (Cpanel or RDP access), or technical support must be readily available to provide code review and pushes to all necessary environments when needed.
    5. DNS access - if MMC is responsible for updates/edits for Client.
    6. With no DNS access, MMC must have a contact for making these necessary changes at launch.
